父は民謡歌手の福田岩月
23 歳から民謡を習い始め、2012 年6 月に
第25 回日本民謡フェスティバルで
グランプリを受賞するなど
数々のコンクールで優勝
呉服店で営業をしていたが脱サラし、
2012 年10 月にキングレコードから
「南部蝉しぐれ」でシングルデビューを果たす
同曲はオリコンの演歌チャートで1 位となった
2013 年の第64 回NHK 紅白歌合戦に初出場し、
第55 回日本レコード大賞では新人賞受賞した
2014 年、2 枚目のシングル「峠越え」を発表。
自己最高のオリコン初登場6 位を記録。
また、週間の売上枚数でも「南部蝉しぐれ」を
上回り自己最高を記録した
そして、2020 年
「第62 回 日本レコード大賞」において
最優秀歌唱賞を受賞した

Kouhei Fukuda is a popular enka singer
from Morioka in Iwate prefecture
His father Gangetsu Fukuda was
a celebrated minyo folk singer
Fukuda began singing minyo folk songs at 23
and before long won a swag of awards
including the Grand Prix at the
25th Japan Minyo Festival in June 2012
After working in a kimono fabric shop
he made his solo debut with the single
Nambusemi Shigure on King Records
in October 2012
In 2013, Fukuda made his first appearance at the
64th edition of the NHK Kohaku Singing Contest
and also took out the 55th Japan Record Awards
He released the single Toge-goe in 2014
Fukuda boasts the most successful Oricon debut
at 6th place, with weekly sales setting a new
person record in excess of Nambusemi Shigure
In 2020, Fukuda was the highest placed
singer at the 62nd Japan Record Awards
